About Jen

Websize Jen June 8, 2014 002

Probably the first thing to really know about me is that I am passionate about life and conscious about living fully, thus the title of my site. I am naturally curious and love to travel and learn about the world, people, and cultures. I was born in Vancouver, Canada to Portuguese immigrants. I currently live in Calgary, Alberta.

I wear many hats in life.  I am a certified teacher who has worked in the public school system and with home learning families for since 2001. I have a deep passion for working with children as well as great respect and reverence for their magical worldview. I especially enjoy learning about spirituality alongside children and teaching them skills and tools to enhance their spiritual journeys in life.

I have been a student of shamanism since 2005. I study indigenous technologies from all around the world and apply my knowledge within the context of ceremony.  Along with Lomilomi, I practice Reiki (forms of Hawaiian and Japanese shamanism respectively).

I am a Shamanic Coach and Practitioner certified via The Institute of Shamanic Medicine (www.shamanicmedicine.ca).  I am also a member in good standing of the Canadian Reiki Association (www.reiki.ca). I received reiki training via Ki Lifestyle Solutions in Calgary, AB (http://www.kilifestyle.ca)  I received lomilomi training from Hawaiian Shamanic Bodywork (www.shamanicbodywork.com).

I’ve co-authored a book for children and the child inside each adult called “The Magic Circle: Shamanic Ceremonies for the Child and the Child Within.”
